Karel Beckman

Karel Beckman (1958) is editor-in-chief of De Andere Krant (www.deanderekrant.nl), the independent Dutch weekly newspaper. He previously worked as journalist in the energy sector and for the Dutch financial newspaper The Financieele Dagblad. He is (co-)author of three books, including Beyond Democracy (with Frank Karsten), which has been translated in more than 20 languages. His personal website is www.thefriendlysociety.nl
